Description
Auguste Gaspard Louis Boucher Desnoyers (aka Auguste Gaspard Louis [Baron] Boucher-Desnoyers) (1779-1857).
Scarce large 1832 print after Rafael "Sainte Marguerite", not framed.
I did quite a bit of research on this piece and found only one that belongs to the Fogg Art Museum in Boston and was donated to the museum by William Gray in 1857.
Engraving with etching on heavy wove paper with a narrow margin around the platemark and backed with a support linen.
Print itself appears to be in excellent condition, only the bottom of paper outside of print area has some stain (see pictures).
See the link below to the Harvard Fogg art museum for detailed description, review pictures and ask questions.
There is much earlier (1750s) engraving of the same painting by different engravers that belongs to the British Museum.
